SOLD PICASSO'S DREAM!

PABLO PICASSO'S  PAINTING "THE  DREAM  (LA REVE)" SOLD FOR  $ 155 MLN.

- with such exclusive information newspaper "New York Post" was released in the end of March, citing an anonymous source.
The work became the second value of the world's most expensive paintings after "The Card Players" by Paul Cezanne, which was bought by the Emir of Qatar for $250 mln in 2012.

Steven Cohen has bought Pablo Picasso’s “Le Reve” for $155 mln from casino owner Steve Wynn, a person familiar with the transaction said. The price is the highest paid by a U.S. collector for an artwork.
Wynn had previously agreed to sell the painting to Cohen for $139 mln in 2006. The purchase was canceled after Wynn, whose vision has deteriorated owing to retinitis pigmentosa, accidentally put his elbow through the canvas. Cohen remained interested in the work for years as it was repaired. The difference $16 mln due to increased cost of painting and the high cost of restoration work does not embarrass the new owner.
Dreams of great artists are required to cost a lot of money! Especially if the artists's muses are present in these dreams.

“Le Reve” shows Marie-Therese Walter, described in biographies as the married artist's mistress, model and muse. For years he gave her and their daughter financial support.
Married and 45, Picasso spotted Walter in 1927 on a Paris street when she was 17. She would be the artist's greatest love for the next decade, inspiring numerous paintings and sculptures, according to John Richardson, Picasso's biographer. According to critics, this is one of the most erotic Picasso's paintings .

Cohen's collection is reportedly worth $1bn and includes major works by De Kooning, Jasper Johns , Francis Bacon, Jeff Koons , Van Gogh and Edouard Manet. He is also the owner of Damien Hirst's formaldehyde shark, The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living , which he bought in 2006 for $8 mln.

Recall your dreams and do not rush to sell them. Maybe once they become very expensive.
And not forget about you muses...
